Letter to Abby - By Brandon Pellegrino

My friend's dog passed out last week and he wrote this beautiful poem to her and make me have tears in my eyes. She was so adorable. R.I.P. Abby

Why did you have to leave me
You were all I had
Much more then just a doggie
And me, I was your dad
We took care of each other
In ways like no other
Not just when I walked you
or made your favorite food
But you where there to cheer me up
when I was in a bad mood

Your soft fur and warm body brought peace to this guy
Your eyes and face, so adorable I would cry
Not a day goes by that I dont think of you
Not a moment goes by, that I do not miss you
I think of you constantly, the happy times we shared
Remembering how you ran when I tried to brush your hair
You were so good, so well behaved
Anything I asked you, you happily obeyed

We would walk for miles
Though you never said a word
We stopped at every tree
And looked at every bird

You will always be a part of me
And me a part of you
A bond that can never be broken
There's nothing death can do

Because our hearts did beat as one
And though yours has stopped
Your soul will run as fast as light
Now your pain is gone, you're free
Never forget, you're a piece of me

You and me will meet again
You are my child, my companion and friend
In the biggest park with the tallest trees
It will never get dark with the warmest breeze
It will never rain and if it does
I'll be there to dry you, just like it was

I miss you now since you have passed
But there is one thing I still must ask
I lived a life that was far from great
Can you forgive me please and open the gate?
Please let me in so we can be together
and live eternally forever and ever

I miss you Abby, I will always love you and never forget
the times we shared. You are an angel, you always were and forever
will be.
